A PHP program is five days per week (20 weekly hours). PHP clients are usually placed in a PHP program after a hospital stay. PHP clients are not ready to be treated in a residential care atmosphere.
Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHPs) provide intensive, structured treatment including daily therapy (individual, group, family), medication management, psychiatric care, and life skills training, bridging the gap between inpatient and outpatient care with a comprehensive, multi-faceted approach for moderate mental health needs. These programs offer daily, multi-hour sessions (often 5 days/week) with activities like CBT, DBT, yoga, art therapy, and educational components, focusing on recovery and relapse prevention.
Teens and families require professional support combined with community care. Our programs are tailored to help with socializing and finding meaning and purpose.

Life Skills
Life skills classes provide confidence, independence, and resilience. Classes provide practical, financial, and social-emotional skills, preparing clients for successful and fulfilling lives wrapped around work and relationships, as well as managing well-being. Classes improve problem-solving/decision-making, as well as reducing anxiety.
Structured Social Interaction: Both IOP and PHP involve multiple weekly therapy sessions. Participants engage with peers, which fosters a sense of community.
Peer Support Networks: Hearing from and connecting with others who understand the struggles of mental health or addiction is a powerful tool for validation.
Safe Environment for Social Practice: These programs provide a supportive and non-judgmental space for participants to practice new social skills.
Gradual Transition: The programs offer continuity of care, with patients often stepping down from PHP to IOP as they gain stability.
Long-Term Strategies: A key goal is to equip participants with the tools to maintain social connections (aftercare, support groups, volunteering, engaging in community activities).
Developing Social Skills and Resilience
Relapse Prevention and Life Skills: The programs teach practical life skills, such as effective communication, empathy, and conflict resolution. This helps participants feel more capable of managing real-world social challenges.
Increased Self-Awareness: The therapeutic process encourages introspection, helping participants understand how their thoughts and feelings affect their social behavior.
Reconnecting with Support Systems
Family Therapy: Many IOP and PHP programs offer family counseling sessions to help repair strained relationships and educate loved ones on how to provide effective support; and
Maintaining Real-World Connections: By allowing participants to live at home, IOP and PHP enable them to continue engaging with their existing support systems, such as family and friends.
Visible signs that IOP and PHP are working include improvement in daily functioning, a reduction in symptoms, and the effective use of learned coping skills.
